Easing Out Of The Master Cleanse Diet

It’s Day 15 for me on the Master Cleanse Diet, and if you have been following my posts on this journey, you’ll recall that yesterday was my last day of taking the Master Cleanse drink.  Woohoo!  I feel healthier already!


What’s Next?

So now that it’s over, what does one have to do next?  Do I just go back and resume my usual junk-food laden diet?  Certainly not, and it isn’t quite over yet.  Like I have said before, this whole Master Cleanse thing is a journey, and for me, a new beginning.  My goal, and the true goal of the Master Cleanse program is to cleanse the body of toxins, but not so that I can just put more junk back into my body again!  I plan to start eating healthier.  For so long as I am breathing, that means that this ongoing journey wil be a healthier and happier one!


Now That I’m Detoxed, Why Not Pig Out?

First of all, you wouldn’t want all your efforts on the entire detox program to go to waste by simply jumping back to the unhealthy eating habits you’ve had before.  Secondly, after days of not having your stomach digest solid food, it would be dangerous to your health to just stuff it with solid food so abruptly.  You need to gently ease back in to it so as not to shock your digestive system.

It takes 4 days to gently and completely ease out of the Master Cleanse Detox Program, and here’s how:

Day 1 of Easing Out:  Drink only water and orange juice through out the day.

Day 2 of Easing Out:  In addition to water and orange juice, reintroduce soups (preferably only broths) and other fresh juices into diet.

Day 3 of Easing Out:  Slowly reintroduce vegetables and fruits but in small portions at a time only.

Day 4 of Easing Out:  Return to a normal (low-calorie, high fiber, preferably raw) diet.

As you’re coming off the Master Cleanse program, plan your menu for the entire week, beginning on the day you start eating solids.  Make sure that you stay away from any food that is too salty, too sweet or even too oily.  Also, since your stomach kinda shrank a bit during the Master Cleanse detox, you will find that it will tend to feel full sooner than usual.  Let it be.  That’s a good thing and you should keep it that way as much as possible.  Not only will you get used to eating smaller portions, it will also help keep your metabolism up when you eat smaller portions, but more often through out the day, as opposed to eating a bigger portion three times a day.  This will further help you in losing more weight or maintaining your ideal weight.

I ve completed it five times for a 7-day period, and i definitely look forward to it.     Great information… i just completed my very first 10 day cleanse but day 11 broke the fast with juicing and vegatable soup broth. I may have jumped to quickly but not sure. Still feel great and very full.
