OOTD: Don’t Ruffle My Feathers

Nuffnang Philippines brought to us bloggers the biggest blogging summit last Sunday at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.  You first heard me talk about it ten days ago in a previous post.  I intended to dress up a little bit for that event because the venue was going to be at a five-star luxury hotel.  However, since it was going to be an all-day event, I wanted to wear an ensemble that would be comfortable enough to last me all day.  I also didn’t want to be so corporate-looking since I viewed it more as a social rather than a business gathering of Filipino bloggers.  In fact, an evening party was announced as the highlight of the summit.  So, taking all of that into consideration, along with a schedule of activities that day, I decided to go for casual chic.

Fashion Writer, Maggie Hira defines Casual Chic as:

“…a combination of casual and fashionable dress. The term describes a type of dress code that is comfortable, but also stylish and fashion-forward. The casual half of “casual chic” embodies clothing that is traditionally comfortable, like jeans, cotton or khaki pants, and flowing dresses; the chic half embodies precision tailoring, bright colors and a few feminine details and accessories to bring a touch of class and sophistication.”

Jeans are universally known for being a staple of casual attire, but dark-colored fitted jeans always look classier. That was why I chose to wear this pair of black skinny jeans (no, skinny jeans don’t necessarily mean you gotta be skinny to wear it!).

To add a bit of style and glamour, I chose this dainty-looking ruffled top.  Then, to make this look a bit more interesting, I chose red for my belt and shoes.  I think the red complimented the soft nude hue of my top so perfectly.

I love my feather earrings and my bead bouquet ring, both of which I got from ALDO.  They’re both very cute and very trendy.  The color of my earrings goes so well with my top, while my ring complimented the color of my shoes.
