Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette: Elegantly Naked

The most anticipated sequel to the Naked palette that came out in 2010 has arrived … at my doorstep! –> [insert evil laugh here!]

I got the Urban Decay Naked 2 a few months ago as a gift from Big Daddy.  Ever since its release late last year, I’ve been dying to get my hands on this ubergorgeous palette!  So when hubby finally bought it for me, I literally hopped and skipped like a kid on Christmas Day. :)

I mean, what bona fide makeup addict would not go crazy over this baby?!  It’s a palette packed with 12 gorgeous, pigment-rich, neutrals from the taupe and greige color family, comes with a double-ended shadow/crease brush, and even includes a travel-size lip gloss (Lip Junkie in Naked) to compliment the eye makeup!

I absolutely loved the packaging!  It comes in a tin case with a hinged lid embossed with the name “Naked 2 Urban Decay”.  It reminded me of a watercolor set and a pencil box I had back in gradeschool.

As you can tell from the photos below, the twelve lovely colors range from matte to slightly shimmery, from very pale to very deep, giving you lots of options when experimenting with color combinations.  Urban Decay has proven that, with this carefully selected and assembled palette, neutral doesn’t necessarily equal boring.

On June 28th, the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette was what I used for my eye makeup when I attended a cousin’s wedding.  The color scheme for the event was black and although black usually is a good excuse to go all wild and bold on the makeup, I reminded myself that I was going to a wedding, not going clubbing.  Therefore, a soft, elegant look was the appropriate makeup to wear.  The Urban Decay Naked 2 was just the perfect palette for what I had in mind!

Unfortunately, my photo below doesn’t vividly show the colors but I’m very satisfied with the overall look I was able to achieve that day using this palette.  Again, this makeup helps you achieve a very subtle but very elegant look … exactly what I was going for.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette for my eyeshadow using Foxy, Half Baked, Snake Bite and Busted; Shiseido Majolica Lash Expander for my lashes; NARS Blush in Orgasm and Smashbox Baked Fusion Softlights in Starburst for my cheek color; Benefit Browzings for my eyebrows and Smashbox Shades of Fame Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss in Buff for my lips

I totally have fallen in love with the Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette!  I found that the colors come even more alive when applied with a slightly wet brush.  I also give it a 10 for staying power!

So the next time I feel like going for the classic neutral makeup, the Naked 2 is certainly my go-to palette!  I’m so happy with this product and I highly recommend it to y’all, ladies.

The Urban Decay Naked 2 retails at $50 (or about Php2,500.00) at Urban Decay.
