The Best Makeup-On-The-Go From Laura Mercier 2011 Edition

I love the wonderful opportunities that traveling brings – for relaxation, for experiencing new things, for building new memories and acquiring new knowledge.  I’m not the type who always has to be “on the go” or one who constantly has to have a change of atmosphere.  For the most part, I do love to stay home.  However, if and when I  get the opportunity to travel, I see to it that I do a lot of advance planning and preparation.  In my opinion, being able to pack as light as possible, but not lacking any of the necessities, exceedingly helps in making the trip stress-free.

Now, what bona fide Goddess would travel anywhere without her makeup box, right?  We ladies know that our makeup box is just as important as that bag of toiletries, or as sunblock is for a trip to the beach.  Since you will be away from your vanity mirror for a few days at least, it is understandable that you would want to make sure you have all the essentials packed and ready to go.  Well, just envision yourself traveling with this much “essentials” to carry…

A nightmare, isn’t it?  Thank God for the invention of travel-sized makeup kits!  But even with the availability of such kits, how do we know which one is packed with everything you’ll need for a flawless face on-the-go?

Flawless Face Anytime, Anywhere

Since 2009, Laura Mercier has been coming out with alluring collections of travel-friendly makeup kits and portfolios — from the “Renaissance Collection” in 2009 to the “Color Essentials Face Palette” and “Spring Essentials Lush Botanicals Collection” in 2010 — Laura Mercier’s collections of palettes and beauty essentials have always been worth watching out for.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get my hands on any of their earlier collections but last year, I was blessed enough to receive and enjoy three of their best 2011 collections ever!  For Manila residents, you may still be able to find them at a Rustan’s cosmetics counter nearest you but you will need to hurry since the first two on my list are both Limited Editions.

These are my cherished and highly commended Makeup-On-The-Go collections from Laura Mercier cosmetics:

Laura Mercier Day To Night Neutrals Colour & Brush Collection

Released around November of last year, this kit is such a great bargain even for the price of P4,350 at any Rustan’s cosmetics counter (or $125 outside the Philippines), considering what you’re taking home with you.  Look flawless from day to night with this Limited Edition Day To Night Neutrals Colour & Brush Collection.  This complete collection of versatile shades for the eyes, cheeks and lips, along with professional brushes for expert application, allows you to customize your look for every occasion — from a natural day look at work, to a more intensified look that’s perfect for that hot date later in the evening.  Housed in a chic cosmetic bag with a separate section to store all three brushes, it’s the perfect take-along for flawless beauty on-the-go, anytime, anywhere.

The Laura Mercier Day To Night Neutrals Colour & Brush Collection includes:

  • Mini Foundation Primer
  • Full-Size Eye Colour Duos in Sparkling Dew/Celestial, Sheer Topaz/Primrose
  • Full-Size Cheek Colour in Petal Pink
  • Full-Size Kohl Eye Pencil in Stormy Grey
  • Full-Size Full Blown Volume Lash Building Mascara in Black
  • Full-Size Lip Glacé in Mystic Mauve
  • 3-well Custom Compact
  • Double-Ended Ponytail/Crease Brush
  • Mini Cheek Colour Brush
  • Cosmetic Bag

Laura Mercier Limited Edition Luxe Colour Portfolio

Also released late last year, this beautifully packaged faux snakeskin organizer is not just travel-friendly but is also glamorous enough to show off, all for only P4,350 (or $125).

The Laura Mercier Luxe Colour Portfolio includes:

  • 6 Eye Colours in Primrose, African Violet, Merlot, Truffle, Topaz and Stellar
  • 3 Tightline Cake Eye Liners in Ground Espresso, Black Ebony and Burgundy Wine
  • 2 Second Skin Cheek Colours in Rose Petal and City Pink
  • 3 Mini Brushes including Ponytail, Crease and Flat Eye Liner brush

Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit

I consider this kit an absolute must-have for every woman who wears makeup regularly, whether you’re an expert at it or totally inexperienced.  The Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit combines all of the essential formulas and tools needed to create a flawless canvass prior to your color application.  In just a few easy steps — prime, moisturize, and cover up — you’re well on your way to complexion perfection!  What I love most about it is the tinted moisturizer.  It doesn’t just do a great job in locking in your skin’s natural moisture, but it’s also pigmented enough to provide a light coverage for your flaws, while giving your skin a healthy, luminous glow.  I also give the concealer (undercover pot) a two thumbs up for its crease-free staying power.

I’d say you get a bit of a bang for your buck at P2,950 for this kit especially since each travel-size zippered case contains this set of fabulous products:

The Nude Flawless Face Kit contains:

  • Foundation Primer (Step 1)
  • Tinted Moisturizer in Nude (Step 2)
  • Undercover Pot Shade #2 (Step 3 and 4)
  • Secret Camouflage Brush
  • Camouflage Powder Brush
  • Velour Puff
  • Egg-shaped Sponge

The Sand Flawless Face Kit contains:

  • Foundation Primer (Step 1)
  • Tinted Moisturizer in Sand (Step 2)
  • Undercover Pot Shade #3 (Step 3 and 4)
  • Secret Camouflage Brush
  • Camouflage Powder Brush
  • Velour Puff
  • Egg-shaped Sponge

**Note** : Laura Mercier also came out with the “Oil-Free” and “Mineral” variation of this Flawless Face Kit.

If you’re unable to grab any of these collections, worry not, for Laura Mercier will surely come out with a series of new collections and special offers for 2012.  Just make sure you don’t miss it this time!  For those of you who are fortunate enough to get one or all of the above-mentioned products, congratulations and enjoy your new toy!!! :)

Hi, Remy! Thank you so much for your comment and for visiting my site again. :) I haven’t checked my email yet but thanks for letting me know. Congratulations again, sweetie! I’ll get your goodies sent to you by next week. To answer your other question, yes, I go to CCF. Do you go there too? Please feel free to share the MyMy Blog with your other mommy friends. That would be uberfabulous! Plans on having a meetup with MyMy Blog friends (the ones that live around the metropolis at least) are in fact in the works. As to when and where, I’m still consulting with The Big Boss. It would help though if you can send me a message through the Ask MyMy section and let me know what specific topics or issues you would want to be discussed in a meetup like that. Lotsa love!!! :)
