3 Products That Promise Flawless Skin

I am thirty-something, and – like all women my age, I suppose – I am constantly on the hunt for any product or treatment that can help me achieve and maintain “flawless skin“.  Women my age slowly begin to be concerned about losing elasticity on their skin and developing wrinkles (mainly crowfeet and laughlines). Although I am extremely grateful to have been blessed with generally clear, younger-looking skin, I recognize the importance now of putting extra effort into trying to achieve “flawless skin” by proper cleansing and moisturizing, if only to prevent premature signs of aging and to protect my skin from sun damage and free radicals (molecules that are responsible for aging and tissue damage).

Today, I would like to briefly share three products with you that all promise to give you flawless skin.  These are products I have personally tried and put to the test for over a period of at least one to four months.  What were these products and which of them proved to be the best?  You will be surprised.

1. Philosophy Makeup Optional Skincare Kit (For Normal, Combination Skin)

Philosophy Makeup Optional Skincare Kit

Philosophy’s Makeup Optional Kit is a skin care system designed to gently cleanse, help protect and balance moisture for radiant, impeccably smooth skin.  (Sounds like flawless skin to me!  Right?)  It promises to help improve overall skin health and promote a “healthy, radiant glow”.  The kit includes the Purity Made Simple one-step facial cleanser (8 oz.), When Hope Is Not Enough facial firming serum (1 oz)., Hope In A Jar moisturizer (2 oz.), and Hope In A Tube eye and lip firming cream (5 oz.).

If I remember correctly, I paid somewhere between P3,000 – P4,000 (about $70 – $85 USD) when I bought it. Current price may vary.

2.  Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Facial Scrub

Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Facial Scrub

Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Facial Scrub promises to fight 6 common skin problems:  oily skin, pimples, whiteheads, dirt, enlarged pores and irregular texture.  It contains purifying salicylic acid (an efficient anti-bacterial active) combined with regenerating HerbaRepair™ (from blueberry extract).  This description also sounds like “flawless skin” to me – and I’m sure, to anyone who reads it – but we’ll see.

3. The Farm Coco Moringa Facial Elixir

Coco Moringa Facial Elixir

Loaded with multiple antioxidant vitamins, minerals and healing moisturizers from the powerful synergy of San Benito ANH Virgin Coconut Oil, Moringa Oil, Rosehip Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sesame Oil, Rice Bran Oil, and specialized blend of botanical extracts and essential oils, the Coco Moringa Elixir promises to nourish and balance normal to combination skin and to protect it against harsh pollutants, stressors and free radicals. It should be applied to the skin after cleansing to moisturize, heal minor skin problems, reduce blemishes and restore skin balance.  It also claims to be effective in improving skin texture, diminishing fine lines, and naturally brightening the skin. It is available only at The Farm at San Benito in Batangas, Philippines for about Php1,300 per bottle, if my memory serves me right.  I’m not sure if it can even be purchased via their website.  The last time I checked, they only have the virgin coconut oil and massage oil for sale.  I got mine straight from their kiosk when Hubby and I went their for a relaxing weekend getaway.  If you’re interested in getting a bottle, but you’re nowhere near Batangas, contact me and I’ll see what I can do for you.

So Which Of These Products Worked Best?

The products that did deliver on their promise to give flawless skin were Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Scrub and The Farm Coco Moringa Facial Elixir.  I told you, you’ll be surprised!

Immediately after using the Garnier Scrub, my skin felt softer, smoother and brighter!  I tend to have occasional breakouts especially when I’m under a lot of stress and when I don’t get sufficient amount of sleep, but while using Garnier, I had zero breakouts consistently throughout the entire month I used it!  I admit, I was very impressed.  So I stopped using my regular facial wash (Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple) and switched to it.

The Coco Moringa Facial Elixir is the perfect substitute for my regular moisturizer and other bedtime facial firming serum.  After washing my face with Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Scrub, I apply the elixir all over my face and neck and it works wonders!  I wake up every morning to glowing, healthy looking skin.  I have also tried the Coco Moringa for at least four months (prior to Garnier ), and it also worked perfectly on its own, so I know that these two products, apart from each other, don’t disappoint.  Since one is for cleansing and the other is for moisture and nutrition for the skin, using both sounded like a really brilliant idea… and indeed it was!

Unfortunately for Philosophy, I’ll prefer to save my money on buying other things I need as opposed to spending it on another Philosophy Makeup Optional kit.  I’ve always loved Philosophy and have used some of their products – particularly the facial wash, body wash and fragrances.  I’m also aware of the countless positive reviews on this particular skincare system.  However, I gotta be honest, I didn’t see any significant improvement or change in the texture of my skin after using the kit for a month.   In my opinion, if you generally have no problem with your skin, this kit is perfect probably for maintenance or for preventive purposes.  I read somewhere that they have a more advanced and powerful version of this skincare system that is supposed to reverse signs of aging, and that too, received good reviews.  Maybe that one does work.  I really don’t know for sure, ’cause I haven’t tried it… and because I don’t need to try it yet.  Maybe in a decade? Hehe!

I love the Purity Made Simple one-step facial cleanser (in fact, I had been using it for months prior to discovering Garnier; it can also be bought separately) and I also found their Hope In A Tube eye and lip firming cream really effective, so I would likely buy those again (except that I’ve already switched to Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Scrub for my facial wash), but not as part of the kit since the kit is a bit too expensive considering the results I got.

So there ya go, folks!  I hope you found my short, humble review helpful.  I also hope that this review helps you on your own journey toward achieving flawless skin of your own!  Please do share with me your own feedback regarding any of the products I mentioned in this post.  Just remember that regardless of which product you end up choosing for yourself, critical to the success of achieving flawless skin is the practice of maintaining a good, well-balanced diet, healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, a sufficient amount of sleep (at least 7 hours) and lots and lots of fiber and water.  Diligently do that, and your skin will truly look radiant, healthy and flawless — so much so that MAKEUP IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL!  :)

Hi, Tuttie! You can get it directly from The Farm. However, if you’re unable to travel all the way to Batangas for that, let me know ’cause I live in the south and from time to time, travel that way. :)

Hi, stumbled upon your blog and I have been using The Farm’s coco moringa too. Im on my 3rd bottle and i love it to bits. It is also just PHP450 a bottle and if im not mistaken it can be purchased at The Farm’s manila office in Manila Pen. :)

Hi, Carla! Thanks for the info. Are you sure about the price? I kept my very first bottle for a few more weeks after I was done with it (after which I finally threw it away) and I remember seeing the price (sticker) tag on the bottom that said P1,300 (or at least I was sure it was over a thousand bucks). That’s what I recall. If I was mistaken and it costs only P450 per bottle then that would be even more awesome! I’ll check with their office in Manila Pen. Thanks again. :)
