Weekend Reflections: God Of The Impossible

The subject of diabetes is very personal to me since my husband is himself a Type 2 Diabetes patient.  One doctor once discouraged us by saying that there is no truth to the “rumor” that diabetes is reversible.  She said it was IMPOSSIBLE and even went on to say that my husband has no other choice but to keep taking his medications for the rest of his life.

What a sure way to kill one’s spirit, wasn’t it?

Well, I’m sorry, but I’ve always been a firm believer of God’s power to heal, no matter what any human doctor says, if it’s within God’s will to do so.  He can grant healing in many different ways — it can be in the form of a miracle healing (with no medical intervention) or He can grant it by way of sending the right doctors your way to give you the medical treatment you need.  Whatever illness or disease it may be — yes, even diabetes which most of us believed was irreversible or IMPOSSIBLE to cure.  I have nothing to lose if I will put my faith in the God Of The Impossible; but I have everything to gain if I become a recipient of a miracle.  I haven’t forgotten that He is the God who calmed the storm, walked on water, changed the water to wine, gave sight to the blind, exorcised demons, fed thousands with two fish and five loaves of bread, rose from the grave, and conquered death.  What then is diabetes to Him?  Is there anything at all then that is IMPOSSIBLE for Him?

In our case, Rick and I are praying that the God Of The Impossible will show us the way to get his diabetes reversed and so far, I’m happy to say that God has been leading us to people who not only believe that diabetes is reversible, but have actually helped in treating other diabetes patients and are offering to provide support to the patients and their families.  To come across the likes of Dr. Mark Hyman, who has helped many diabetics take back their health and their lives WITHOUT DRUGS is God’s answer to our prayers — and we believe that God is just beginning.  So, that is what Rick and I are doing right now — we are exploring the possibility of reversing Rick’s diabetes.  I will surely keep you guys posted on this new journey we are about to embark on, and by God’s grace and mercy, I’m hoping to be able to give you good news next time.

Friends with diabetes, there is hope.  Keep your faith and hope in God — the God who conquered even diabetes! :)

“With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  ~ Matthew 19:26
