A B-E-A-U-tiful Sunday morning, Friends!
This is the day that the good Lord has made, and technically (Biblically), this day does belong to Him. “Remember to keep holy the Sabbath Day”, says the Lord (Exodus 20:8). It was also added that just as God rested on the seventh day, so must we not do any work either. In our family, we do our best to honor this commandment by God by making sure we do not do any work-related stuff throughout the entire day, nor do we require any of our staff to work either. But most important of all, that we spend the day dwelling on God’s Word, go to Sunday Worship and just remain in His holy presence consistently (ideally) all day.
It is my belief though that this commandment benefits us more than it does God. I don’t think He gets anything from our obedience other than being pleased with us and being glorified, but even that doesn’t add to what He already is. He is God. He is the beginning and the end. He is the source of all things, the beginning of all things, the completion of all things…the Be-All and End-All. Keeping the Sabbath Day holy is more for us, My Friends. When we set aside time (or one whole day, in this case) dedicated to Him alone… when we clear our schedule and spend time with Him, we allow ourselves to be recharged and refreshed by His Holy Spirit. His gentle voice suddenly drowns out the noise of this busy world, and pacifies our souls. Then and only then are we able to listen and clearly hear what He wants to say to us. Perhaps work week has burnt you out, or there’s a pressing matter that requires your decision in the next couple of days, or you’re simply feeling lonely or depressed. Spending even one day with God, dwelling in His Word, is the ultimate soul food…and in His presence, there is blessing, there is favor, there is fullness of joy!
Keep holy the day of the Lord and be blessed, Friends!
[VERSE 1]Too many storms have passed your way And you’re all washed out cause it rained on your parade Seems nobody cares about you anyway Now you’re living your life like a castaway Searched for strength inside was it all in vain Cause the deeper you dig you find more and more pain Don’t let your tomorrow be like yesterday Cause I spoke to God, I called out your name And on your behalf, I just asked if He would be there for you I want you to
[CHORUS]Be Blessed, Don’t live life in distress Just let go, let God, He’ll work it out for you I pray that your soul will be blessed Forever in his rest, Cause you deserve his best no less
[VERSE 2]Enter a place where you never have to cry Never have to live a lie, never have to wonder why Never LONG for nothing you’re always satisfied In the peace that his arms will provide He will erase any guilt or shame, any bad habits you’ve got You won’t wanna do em again, Yes we all can change, I can testify See I spoke to God, I called out your name And on your behalf, I just asked, If he would be there for you I want you to
[CHORUS]My prayer for you today, Is that you trust and always obey On his name keep calling [choir] On his name keep calling [solo] He’ll keep you from falling [choir] He’ll keep you from falling [solo] He’ll supply the answers [choir] Yes He will, if you stand in faith and trust Him to make a way out of no way [solo]
[REPEAT CHORUS]Be blessed from the bottom of your feet to the crown of your head Your life be blessed Your family be blessed Your finances be blessed Everything about you
